One way to LESSEN UNEMPLOYMENT

If we have to based the unemployment rate from 2008 to 2009 in the Philippines, we will noticed that it increased from 7.30% to 7.40%. There are many college graduates in the Philippines yet the job opportunities cannot support all the graduates. Some of them look for a job even it is not related to their profession.

One day, I was walking along Ortigas and I found a group of people who were walking with a billboard behind their back(video). I was wondering what was they're doing and why do they have to do that. First came to my mind is that they were just punished by someone  or maybe it is one of the initiation of the aspirants to be a member of a fraternity. But what I thought is wrong. More days had come, I still noticed the people that I was talking about. They still exist in the streets together with their billboards. Until I became aware that it was their job. Their job is to walk around the city just to endorse a certain product. Then I realize that it was a good idea. Idea to lessen the number of unemployment. Well, it is also advantage to the owner of the product because they will get the attention of the people they were passing because it is a unique style of endorsing.

We don't know what profession they have. Maybe some of them graduated from colleges. Or maybe some of them came from a prestigious universities. But look at they now, they were walking around the streets with the billboards. It is not their profession, they did not enter college to end a job like that but what they can do? The job opportunities in our country is very low. They need a source of income to live and support their family. Whatever their professions, they must also be thankful of what they have right now. We must also be proud of them because they swallowed their pride for that job even they handled a profession that was not suitable for what they have right now.

"Love your Job and be thankful of having it. It is not easy to look for a job at this time."

A great Experience

It was a great experience for me last week. It was my first time to drive a vehicle in Metro Manila. Generally, it was not my first to drive a vehicle for I am already driving in our province, particularly in Davao City. But this time, it is very different.

From that, I learned a lot.First, I find it hard to use a manual transmission kind of vehicle because I used to drove an automatic. I must learn to balance the clutching and the gasoline steps. Second, the traffic I encountered was heavy compared to our province. Additional adjustments for me again for the clutching. The last and the third which almost got the attention of MMDA was the warning signs and symbols from the road. There was so many things to be caution with; the yellow lines (provided only for the public vehicles), the traffic lights, the no entry or one way signs, and the fast, medium and slow lanes.

Because I learned a lot from those experiences, of course there was also problems that I encountered. First, I almost bump the car behind us because I cannot control the clutching well (we are going up to the fly over that time and it was so traffic).  Second, when we were passing through the C5, I happened to used the fast lane and I was trying to move to a slow lane but I find it difficult because there were so many vehicles that were so fast along the road. One van attempted to overtake us which almost hit our vehicle (weow! I got nervous at that time and became more cautious in our way). Third, we got the attention of a traffic enforcer because we entered the lane even the traffic light is already red (stop). Lastly, we entered a counter flow.

Our great experience had a great learnings. Fortunately, we did not caught by the traffic enforcer. I hope the second time will not be as great as these. I must be more cautious everytime I drive and always think that life is very important.

"Life is very important so don't ever try to waste it. And there's a lot of people around who loves you. When driving, be cautious."

Wonder Girls - Nobody

Last Saturday, I witnessed a talent audition at waltermart in Munoz. One thing I observed in the program was among all the participants, maybe 50% of them danced the popular song Nobody by Wonder Girls. I come to think that many of them like the song where in fact they did not understand the song at all because  it is in korean version. Therefore, I searched from the web if there is an english version available of the song in order for me to post here for them to have knowledge of the lyrics of what they are listening.

TO WATCH THE VIDEO:
Wonder Girls - Nobody ( english version)

You know i still love you baby
and it will never change

I want nobody nobody but you
I want nobody nobody but you

How can I be with  another,
I dont want any other

I want nobody nobody nobody nobody

Why you try to,
to make me leave you

i know what you're thinking
baby why aren't you listening

how can i just
just love someone else
and

forget you completely
when i know you still love me

Telling me you're not good enough
my life with you is just too tough

you know its not right so
just stop and come back boy

how can this be when
we were meant to be

I want nobody nobody but you
I want nobody nobody but you

How can I be with  another,
I dont want any other

I want nobody nobody nobody nobody

I want nobody nobody but you
I want nobody nobody but you

A message from ONDOY!

If Ondoy have the mouth to speak, what will be its message?

Dear people (victims),

People had suffered a lot because of me. There's a lot of people died and some brought to the hospitals for a serious injury. I destroyed a lot of houses because of flood.

I would like to apologize of what I did to your country. I am sorry for bringing problems. I am sorry for the life that had been taken. I am sorry for the flood. I am sorry for everything.

I don't have the intention to do that. I have no choice. This is my obligations and I cannot control my self where will I be going. I am created simply as a typhoon. I am not created to destroy lives and surroundings.

This is me. A creation of God, just like you. We were created by Him and only Him have the right to take us from this world of living.

Again, I am very very sorry for everything. Things might change, time will pass, but the tragedy I made will always remain in your heart.

I hope you will forgive me.

-ONDOY-

Bagyong Ondoy left the Philippines but the damage still remains. It is unforgettable experience to our fellow Filipinos who suffered for the unmerciful typhoon. We witnessed how the filipino helped the victims without any doubt but we cannot deny that other just helped for their personal intentions;for political popularity especially national elections is very near.

Whatever may be their intentions, they also deserve to thank them because at least they shared something even they don't have the intention to help.

Ondoy : Message from God?

Last saturday, I never thought that it was as bad as what had happened to metro manila. I just thought that it was a regular heavy rain that I was experiencing before. When I surfed to the internet about the news, I just realized that the people were shouting for help. What I did and the only thing I can do is to pray, pray for the people who suffered from the flood. I realized how lucky I am because the flood didn't come in our place.

While thinking about the tragedy in metro manila, I was reflecting on why those events happened. I asked myself for whom to blame about everything. I once blamed God for all of these but sometimes I also asked myself that it is not only Him who was responsible for everything but also ourselves. Maybe God has a message for us, an old message that was taken for granted for a long period of time. And now, this is it, everyone must take a short time to reflect on what is the message of God of why he did it in that way.

Unbalanced or balanced status in life?

If I have to ask you, what can you say about our different status in life? Balance or unbalance?

Some people live in a nice and comfortable condominiums while other suffers to a very small and crowded places such as the squatter's area.

In condos, they have the things that would entertain them; the plasma TV's, camcorder, PSP's, DVD players, laptop,iPod's, etc. On the other hand, living in squatter's area, a surplus TV is enough for them to entertain themselves.

Students living in condos usually goes to a prestigious schools while living in a Squatter's area goes to a public schools and sometimes they were discriminated(*some went to a prestigious schools because of scholarships).

Some have a white collar job and some have blue collar.

Some have a three meals a day while others only once.

Practically speaking, it is unbalanced. Right?

Now, imagine that people around the world have the same status in life. For example, everybody have a white collar job. Then Who will be our construction workers if we are all the same? One simple example will lead us to realize that it is impossible to happen.

Have you realized how great God is? How he planned all of this and what are the reasons behind it? Well, at this point, I should say that different status in our life was BALANCED by God.

Most of the people, including myself, think that the one who were lucky in this world is the one who got the power, wealth, and fame but if we have to think deeply we were just all the same. Each one of us has its own role in life. People see the QUANTITY of the things around them not the QUALITY of who they are and what are their roles in this world.

Whom to blame?

As I was going to Las Pinas City last Saturday, I came by to stop and took some pictures at Ilog Pasig. I was wondering why such problem like this still exist when there was already a project by the government to eliminate it. Now I was thinking that when will be these problems be eliminated and what will be the solution of it.

I asked myself, "whom to blame?".

If we have to consider the side of the government, I think that they have done their part. But how they do that? Or does the plans/projects of the government was effective? Well, I should say that it is not as effective as it was (it is obvius in the images).

Now, we must also consider the side of the people surrounding the place. Each one of us has responsibilities and we must not just take it to the government. Why? Even the government has to keep cleaning and cleaning the river but the people around it dont have the discipline to throw the garbage properly, all of its effort will be useless. We must stop criticizing the government of their job in pasig river rather we must look in ourselves and just do what is the right thing to do.

Back to the question I asked, whom to blame? If I would say that the people should be blamed, then when will they change or how they will change? The only way to do that is someone must act to forced the people to stop messing up the river. And who is that possible someone? -- the government.

Therefore, the one whom to blame is....up to you...:)

Bamboo Organ

"Men have immortalized their names in paint and marble, but it was left for Padre Diego Cera to build to himself a monument in bamboo, and a more interesting and unique memorial could scarcely be found.
He came to the Philippines to build organs, and when he arrived, there was neither metal, nor suitable wood, nor tanned leather, nor wire, nor pipes, nor keys, nor anything else with which organs were usually made; but with a genius worthy of an eighteenth century Edison, he rose to the occasion and built an organ of bamboo." - Geoge Miller, 1912

Last friday, it is a non working holiday. So I spent my time to visit some historical places. I went to Las Pinas where the Bamboo Organ was situated.
When I got inside the church, I did not noticed the bamboo organ. Instead, I was amazed in the construction inside. It is not as big if I have to compare it from other churches that I have undergone. In fact, it is like a standard chapel. What made me amazed was the things that was there. The chairs was made of bamboo as well as the other things. Moreover, I should really say that the church was built a hundred years had passed. The place was very solemn.
If I have to choose where to attend a mass, I would rather select this church for it is as solemn as it should be when attending a mass.

Restless Place

Last night, I had a late dinner. I ate at Jollibee Munoz. While I was going there, I passed by to the footbridge. I noticed that the traffic was so heavy. i could not imagine such observation like that because the time was already 10PM but the road was still busy. I could have compare the situation in our province in Davao City because when the time reaches off peak, around 10PM, the road will not be busy as I have seen in Quezon City.
Many in our province want to go to metro manila. They have different reasons why they want to. Maybe one of the many reasons they have is to work here. Yes, people in metro manila are very busy working and working.
My question are, do they have time to go out and have some fun? Do they have time with their family? Do they have time with God? Or they become slaves of their own work?

Night MRT

Last Saturday, I watched basketball league at Mandaluyong City. It started around 9PM and ended at 10:30PM. I decided to use MRT in going home because I thought it would be convenient for me instead of riding a bus.

When I arrived in the shaw boulevard station, what I experienced is different from what I have expected. Why? I thought that using MRT at that time is different of what it is in the morning... for being crowded. In fact it is more worst. I am waiting for the train for me to ride for almost an hour. Being crowded is not only the reason but also the less train who were operating.

I am wondering why such problem like this is still present. Is it unsolvable problem? Or the MRT did not think the convenience of their passengers for as long as they will get a greater profit? Or maybe, they already had many experiment on how to solve these problem but still it is not effective? Whatever may be the reason, all the passengers have nothing to do but to ignore everything for as long they will arrived in their destinations.

Messy City

Last Saturday, August 08, 2009, Me and my friend went to NSO. When we arrived to the destination, I had noticed the place. There's a lot of mess in the roadside and I can't understand what does the government do about this problem where in fact, the place was very close to the quezon city hall. From NSO, we proceed to MRT cubao station and again, I noticed the messy surroundings. I am wondering why such places like this have full of mess. Is the government has no budget about this? Or there is already a budget and a person assigned to this problem but he/she did not do his/her job?

I come to think that if i have to compare the surroundings from other cities in manila, it is nt as bad as this one. Maybe, the government will have to act about this one. One thing I can suggest is to put a garbage container in each and every corner of the roads. And there must be assigned person to discipline people who doesnt know how to throw the garbage in a proper place.

BUS or MRT?

Everytime I go home from work, I ride Bus from Robinsons Ortigas to Munoz market. Yesterday, around 7Pm, I tried to get some pictures inside the bus I am riding. And I noticed that it is much the same using the MRT. Very crowded place and there's no assurance on your safety.
So I tried to compared the MRT from bus. I asked myself which is better, safe and at least the more convenient. And I conclude that it depends on the situation. If you are in hurry because you wake up late, it is better to ride the MRT. On the other hand, if you want to travel as well as watching video and you are not in hurry, it is better to ride the bus.The more chance you can sit compared to the MRT.

Now, its up to you what to ride.My opinions were just based on my experience. how about you?

MRT MRT!

Just this morning, I am at North Edsa MRT station around 7:30AM. Guess what? I arrived in my office around 9AM. An hour and a half is too much for a travel from North Edsa Station going to Ortigas Station. I took that long not because of the travel but because of so many people who were also waiting at North Edsa Station. From the Ground floor of the Station, It is already crowded. Men, women, elders, children have only one mission, to go to the top and ride the train.

It came to my mind that, how long was the MRT have been in operation? It seems until now, the problem on that issue is not yet solve.

What can you suggest in that problem?

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

The best way to ride for you to get fast going to your destination is through MRT/LRT yet more risk to encounter.
Around 7AM, the North Edsa MRT station is very crowded as shown in the pictures. These past few days, I used the MRT to go to my work. Using such kind of transportation has advantages and disadvantages for me. First, it is faster for me to arrive in my destination; no traffic at all and the fare is very cheap. It cost me 12 pesos from North Edsa to Ortigas Station. I mentioned that riding MRT/LRT is also risky. It is because, as you can see in the pictures, of the possibility to have stampede. There is no place for the weak here. The people there doesn't know how to distinguish genders, elders, children and pregnant women because this is the place where race happens. Race to be first o ride to the train. Another risky thing when riding to this train is that there is a lot of pick pocketers because of very crowded inside.
So it's up to you what to ride in going to your destination. All I can say is that, there is no safe place wherever you are, just take care and be aware always especially in the crowded areas.

For how many weeks, Quezon city experienced heavy rains. As a resident in Bago Bantay, I woke up early for me to prepare for work at Ortigas center because it takes an hour for me to travel. One day, around 530AM, I forgot to bring my umbrella when a heavy rain came. While waiting for the rain to stop, I used my time to take pictures on my surroundings.

Define: Poker

Poker is a family of card games that share betting rules and usually (but not always) hand rankings. Poker games differ in how the cards are dealt, how hands may be formed, whether the high or low hand wins the pot in a showdown (in some games, the pot is split between the high and low hands), limits on bets and how many rounds of betting are allowed. In most modern poker games, the first round of betting begins with some form of forced bet. The action then proceeds to the left. Each player in turn must either match the maximum previous bet or fold, losing all further interest in the hand. A player who matches a bet may also raise, increasing the bet. The betting round ends when all players have either matched the last bet or folded. If all but one player fold on any round, the remaining player collects the pot without showing his hand. If more than one player remains in contention after the final betting round, the hands are shown and the winning hand takes the pot.
